The Foundation has acquired a powder horn belonging to
Hezekiah Jordan [1759 – 1828] used during his Revolutionary
War Enlistment. His line is: James, Jeremiah, Jeremiah,
Rev. Robert. Hezekiah Jordan was born September 9, 1759
the youngest of nine children born to James Jordan and
Phebe (nee Mitchell) Jordan at Falmouth (now Cape
Elizabeth) Cumberland County, Maine. After returning
from his Revolutionary War enlistment, Hezekiah married
Eunice Davis on September 15, 1782 in Windham,
Cumberland, Maine. Eunice was the daughter of John
Davis and Mary Elden. Foundation Historian, Steve Deitemeyer,
researched and published an excellent article on Hezekiah Jordan
in the Spring Issue of “The Jordan” our Foundation Newsletter.
